A great post and wonderful artwork, thank you, from Snowdonia National Park, north Wales, UK. Long live internationalism and human rights

Thank you! And we love Wales - we were at the Hay Festival last year.

Come to north Wales (too) next time, it's got mountains and is first language Welsh, very different!

What a perfect statement of what is important in life & civic duty. I always say everything you do that helps people or animals, no matter how small, makes the world a better place. I always vote, used to volunteer at food banks, adopt animals, donate to my local humane society, help friends & others. When I can I donate to good charities, Save the Elephants & Planet Wild. Would donate to more, but financial responsibility is also important.

Dear Rhonda, not only are you educated, intelligent, and a wonderful writer, you are also a wonderful human with a beautiful soul!

As I have said before, and say again, I believe if there’s any hope for the human race going on, it lies in the wisdom of women.

Us men seem to be the ones to make big messes, and it’s the women who clean them up.

Thank you for you and for what you do!

Thank you so much for your kind words, Craig. Society's culture of toxic masculinity definitely is on full display! Clearly an adverse impact on the world but it's also been so harmful to men, too.

Ahh, if only we could adhere to this latest version of the Enlightenment. This article reminds us of our shared potential, and our fragile aspirations. Thank you.

If ever there was a time that shows us here and around the world that we are the only ones who can demonstrate our commitment to each other is now . It’s beginning .

This past year has seen the emergence of the worst ever on a global scale. This is unsustainable.

I took a year off from my work to focus on what’s important to me .

I reached out to an old friend from school and he was so supportive and offered me an opportunity. He asked me what my are plans for the future . I told him to create safe spaces for learning empowerment bringing resources through providing basic necessities for others in my community while working in technology . We had to come up with a blueprint for finding resources and financial support, an arduous process keeping people engaged was slow but has grown .

Everyone has something to offer but the most important part is the doing . Small acts of kindness checking in on our neighbors/elders weekday runs to appointments with transportation donated by a friend mass mailings and calls to our leaders and local officials do work when showing up to council meetings. We are getting results little by little.

Thank you for sharing your time in the UK your studies/experience on such a diverse range of issues around human rights and for professors Tara Van Ho and Timothy Snyder.

I will never forget this beautiful mural while visiting the UN headquarters .

Your work here on Substack is essential .

Peace.

Great article, Ronda! I love the way you highlighted the ideas of Prof. Tim Snyder - his is truly one of the most important voices of our time. I know you follow his substack as I'm sure many of your readers do, but it would be great to point to it here I think:
